Hi, everyone my name's not that important well not at the moment. What is important is in this adventure called life there many moments that hit you and make you wonder if life is just an Adventure in Randomness. Entropy is part of life and science (praise Atheismo). I'll give you one example, one of my favorites actually. One day, I was walking west down Queen Street near the Eaton Center. And what do I see next to the government building next to the memorial statue, but a man with a sort of a top hat, roller blades and holding two live pigeons in his hands. He facing a bunch of kids. "Are you pigeons" he asked them. After a few seconds he threw the pigeons at the group of kids. The flinched to avoid the pigeon, but the pigeon flew harmlessly away. Piguon guy proceeds to turn to all of us staring at him. He asks as "Are you all pigeons too ???" and he stops and we I catch his gaze and he throws his last pigeons at me. It arc up harmlessly and flies away.
I've haven't seen him since. The next time I hope there will be an epic battle. Where I'd punch the pigeon away before he can throw it at a group of kids. I have also told this story to Scott McCloud (Zot!, Understanding Comics) during TCAF. "REALLY AT KIDS!?!" is part of what he said to me when I told him my story.
In conclusion there are very interesting things that you can walk into, or have happen to you. Just pay attention to your surroundings and maybe you'll see the pigeon guy or some one like him one day. I saw him in Toronto, you may see him in your city as well.
